    Principal research interests

    • The community of diatoms in the bottom sediments of freshwater lakes, and meromictic lakes. Reconstruction of paleoclimate by the remnants of diatom valves in bottom sediments. Vertical distribution of diatom algae in the water column. The speed of sedimentation flow of diatoms on the bottom of the lakes.

    Professional skills

    • Laboratory research: Processing by the water samples, the bottom sediments samples, the sedimentation traps samples. Diatoms analysis of the permanent samples by the light microscope and SEM.

    • Field research: sampling of water from the lakes; sampling sediment traps; taking core samples from the bottom of lakes.

    • Statistical accounting data by misc. soft.
